There are a lot of examples of WWE stars being successful in the world of wrestling and transitioning to the Hollywood career. One of them is Batista, who was a huge star back in the day as he had a number of great runs with the WWE. They had faith in him, to put championships on The Animal, and have him main event some of the biggest shows that WWE produces, including being in the main event of Wrestlemania.
He recently did an interview where he talked about his run with the company, his name in the WWE and how that career helped him transition to the Hollywood and acting. One funny story that he told was when the company changed his wrestling name. They just changed the spelling to Batista, telling him that the way it is now is going to help the fans pronounce it much easier. Then, he did realize that they only did it so they can own his name. That was the case then, and that is the case now with new wrestlers.
When it comes to whether or not the experience from the WWE helped him learn something about acting and getting ready for Hollywood, here is what he had to say.
“I don’t know if it did. I think as far as comedic timing whatever, I think that all comes from me really just being a fan of movies, being a fan of comedians, and not being afraid to embarrass myself. Not being afraid to make fun of myself. I think that’s where that comes from. As far as wrestling, it’s weird because it’s such a big, I don’t know, physical type performance. It’s hard to compare it to actual film acting.”
