Here is yet another example of the fact that nature can’t be beaten. Hurricane Harvey is causing huge problems to Texas, and according to the National Hurrican Center, it is expected that “catastrophic and life threatening flooding” could be a result of this storm.
Fortunately, it seems that Hurricane Harvey has weakened according to latest reports. With this news, it has been stated that this is now category 1 storm.
Another problem is that there could be power outages. This could happen over a large part of southeast Texas.
Since there is a high risk of flooding, here are few important tips and things to know in case you find yourself in a dangerous situation.
If a Flash Flood Warning is in effect:
– Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
– Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
– Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
– You should monitor the latest forecast and be prepared to take action should additional Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
