Chevrolet will name the new front-wheel drive masterpiece ‘the Blazer’! We repeat, it will be called the Blazer! Finally, we have irrefutable proof that clearly indicates that this mid-size crossover bears that name. We’ve seen this elegant beauty while it was being tested besides a new Nissan Murano which will be one of many Blazer’s rivals in the market.
According to these spy photos, we are in store for two trim levels of this vehicle. Let’s say that one trim is designed for ‘more common’ people whilst the other is a bit more ‘flashy.’ The more common and usual version had smaller wheels and more circular exhaust tips while the second model had more prominent wheels and more angular exhaust tips. That may come as little to no difference, but we can’t stop ourselves from speculating how big will the difference in prices be.
The upcoming Blazer will fit right in between the downsized 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and the upsized cousin 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The company opted for this move to create some space for this mid-size model that is supposed to take on Ford’s Escape, Explorer and Edge. And by the looks of it, the battle will be fierce.
The source provided us with photos but that isn’t all, we also heard that the new vehicle in the lineup will be offered with two engines to choose from. The first one is the GM’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit and the second is the more potent 3.6-liter V6 powerplant. It is interesting that these two engines are also offered in the 2017 GMC Acadia that comes based on the same platform as the Blazer.
We expect Chevrolet Blazer to hit the streets in 2018 where it will go on sale as a 2019 model. Until then, stay tuned and enjoy photos of this magnificent creation.
