New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions – Preseason Week 3 Predictions

Tom Brady stepped on the field for the first time in 2017 season in the Week 2 of the Preseason against the Houston Texans. The team looked good, going up against a very tough Texans defense in Houston. The score was tied for the most of the first half, and that trend did continue in the second half as well. Brady saw a quarter and a half of action before Bill Belichick turned to Jimmy Garoppolo and the backups both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

While Jimmy has been excellent in his first two career regular season starts and in the first preseason game against the Jaguars, we have seen him make some mistakes in the matchup against the Texans. That interception that he threw where he was supposed to throw the ball out of bounds was really bad. It was like Garoppolo was wondering whether or not he should throw it away or try and make the pass. That is something that he can learn from.

On the other hand, the Detroit Lions are preparing for another season where they are going to be looking to somehow squeak into the Playoff picture. It seems that they overachieved last year. Stafford and company would like nothing better than to prove people that think like that wrong. A win here against the defending champs would be a good way to start their season.

We just don’t see the Patriots losing twice in a row in the Preseason. Jimmy Garoppolo is going to step up and New England is going to win this game 23:17 in Detroit. Brady will likely see some action, but not a lot. It is going to be all on Garoppolo to produce in this match.
