There were rumors that John Cena is going to show up on Monday Night Raw after being on the blue brand for over a year. He became a free agent when he made his return to Smackdown Live in early July, so we knew that he is eventually going to come to the flagship show. That happened on the first Raw after the Summerslam, and he did make an impact. Just not in the usual way.
He explained that he was there to face one man, and one man only. His name was Roman Reigns, the Big Dog on Monday Night Raw. You know that he is not going to be the one to back away from a challenge, so he stepped right to John Cena, called him out and was ready to throw hands. This is the sight that many fans wanted to see, but there was somebody that was going to stop them. It was the Miz.
The Intercontinental Champion stole the show here. The promo that he delivered on how Cena and Reigns are getting every single big moment, while he, as the only champion in the ring at the time, was on the Pre-Show of the second-biggest pay per view that WWE produces each and every year. The passion, the desire that the Miz demonstrated here reminded us of what he was doing last year on Smackdown Live where he contributed to the blue brand’s big success.
Now, it is going to be interesting where does the Miz go from here. Is he going to capitalize on this big promo that he had in the weeks to come? What are Roman Reigns and John Cena going to do in the coming weeks? Great segment by Raw creative that left us wanting to see how this develops.
