As you probably already know, the Justice League release date is coming closer, so we will finally get to watch Ben Affleck reprise his role of the great superhero. This film is the second time the actor has been trusted with this part, though he was joking it could be his third, actually, if his short appearance in Suicide Squad counted. “Do I get credit for the Suicide Squad gross?” Affleck made a joke. In the upcoming title, however, he will play the main role, together with Gal Gadot who plays Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller in the role of Flash, etc.
All in all, it’s quite clear that Batman will have to learn how to cooperate with other superheroes, and here’s how Affleck explains this: “He’s put in this position of having to reach out, find other people, convincing them to do something. Part of the drama of the movie is the question of whether or not the team is going to come together. It’s very different from the tenor of the last movie.”
Furthermore, the actor described what Batman would be like in the highly-anticipated film, comparing the character with his previous version. “BvS departed a little bit from the traditional Batman. He started out with all this rage directed at Superman, because of his coworkers who had died in the fight Superman had with Zod. He was holding on to a lot of anger, in a little bit of an irrational way,” Affleck recalled and moved on to say that we should expect to see “a much more traditional Batman. He’s heroic. He does things in his own way, but he wants to save people, help people.”
Finally, he concluded: “This is more in keeping with the canon of how Batman’s usually been portrayed, and how he’s portrayed vis a vis the Justice League in the comics. This is more the Batman you would find if you opened up your average Batman comic book.”
