The Dallas Cowboys suffered their first loss of the 2017 and it came in a preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. If we are honest, this game really doesn’t mean much and the fact that Rams ended up winning it 13-10 doesn’t really mean a lot and it was just a game for the teams to get warmed up. Again, not many starters played in this game, which makes this just a test for the players that are on the bubble or for the players that are fighting to move up on the depth chart.
This was a much sloppier contest than the game that Cowboys played against the Arizona Cardinals. The matchup was pretty slow, not really exciting or fun to watch, but it did the job which is preparing for the season that is starting in less than three weeks.
Taco Charlton was one of the brightest spots for the Dallas Cowboys as he recorded his first sack as was disruptive against the Rams defensive line. The defense overall looked decent as they have given up only 13 points, but this was against the Rams second tier and third tier guys.
On the other hand, the offense was sloppy. Kellen Moore took a step back this week as he looked bad, some of his throws and decisions were god awful. Rico Gathers had one catch, it was a good one, but he still needs to improve. Running game was decent, but neither McFadden nor Morris lit the defense on fire.
Two of the offensive linemen that usually start the game didn’t do it this time while Dak Prescott, along with some other starters and key guys, didn’t show up which is understandable since the Cowboys are going to play the Rams again in the regular season and they don’t want to give away too much to their opponents.
