If you are looking for a powerful truck that can haul and tow, then what better vehicle than the new 2018 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty?
According to the manufacturer, the new 3500 Heavy Duty is the pickup with the highest torque rating in the entire segment, plus the vehicle offers the heaviest fifth-wheel towing capacity. If this model doesn’t impress you, nothing will.
The engine which powers this vehicle is an improved 6.7-liter Cummins I6 diesel which generates 930 lb-ft of torque, which is 30 more compared to the previous model. This extra torque is due to higher boost pressure and flow rates of the fuel delivery system.
Thanks to the newly assembled hitch design, the new 3500 Heavy Duty can tow up to 30,000 lbs, which means that it can haul the heaviest trailers in the industry. It also allows the buyers to move from Class 4 and 5 trucks to haul trailers which would have been limited to 24,000 lbs otherwise.
Mike Manely, the Head of Jeep and Ram Brand was eager to talk about the new 3500 Heavy Duty. He said: “Ram maintains capability leadership by delivering the highest-ever torque rating for a pickup truck and heaviest fifth-wheel trailer towing capacity. We understand the attributes most important to our customers within the heavy-duty segment; they demand hard-working, long-lasting capability.”
For the new Ram 3500 Heavy Duty, the maximum gooseneck and conventional hitch maximum trailer weight ratings are limited to 31,210 lbs and 20,000 lbs respectively, which are outstanding numbers, showing the raw power of the new model.
The upgraded 2018 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty will go on sale later in August. If you are into powerful pickup trucks such as this new model, don’t miss the opportunity to acquire one.
