Disney’s movie Moana is an Oscar-nominated film that is suitable for both children and adults. No wonder so many people loved it, as it had a great story line and catchy songs. Speaking of music in the movie, the Dwayne Johnson’s soundtrack called “You’re Welcome” has become the second single which to go platinum.
The popular Hollywood actor played the role of Maui, a demigod who started singing the song the moment he met Moana for the first time. The song “You’re Welcome” was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and this week, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it platinum. The Rock couldn’t hide his excitement, and he posted this on Twitter: “Sooo technically, I’m a platinum selling artist.. someone call the Grammys.”

The first Moana single to go platinum was Auli’I Cravalho’s “How Far I’ll Go, change” and it happened earlier this year. This means that the song reached one million units sold. Nowadays “a unit” is either one digital download or 150 on-demand audio/video streams, so this is a great success. Cravalho’s “How Far I’ll Go” was nominated for Best Original Song and we chance to watch her perform it at the Academy Awards earlier in the year.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is currently working on numerous projects. His Ballers are returned for the fourth season at HBO, but the next movie in which we will watch Dwayne is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle that comes at the end of 2017. We all know that he is a non-stop hustler and The Rock also prepares Rampage, Jungle Cruise, and Skyscraper, but this last two are still far away to discuss. Hopefully, Jumanji and Rampage will be more successful than his latest Baywatch since the movie received negative reviews from the critics.
