Now, in a good news for the Canadian users, pre-orders for the device are now being taken by Rogers, however, information regarding its release in Canada has been provided by the carrier.
Rogers highlighting plus points of Classic
No big deal is being made of the Classic by Rogers, which comes as a surprise, but if the carrier’s BlackBerry page is visited then a banner will definitely catch attention that boasts of the biggest selling points of the handset claiming ‘amazingly fast’ web browsing, square-shaped touchscreen and the long battery life.
Besides these, the other highlights mentioned in the banner are the keyboard and the navigation keys of the Classic device, and these are the features that make it stand apart from the other BB10 handsets. The device is very much similar to the BlackBerry Q10 device. The two devices are very much identical from inside, but with a minor change. The Classic device comes with classic menu buttons as the ardent BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) fans have become accustomed to in so many years of usage. It also got a touchscreen and the latest OS.
In time for Holidays
There are many BlackBerry fans, who still prefer to use the popular Bold and Curve devices, and the company hopes that with the new Classic handset it will be able to motivate such users to upgrade to the latest offering by the company.
Official pre-orders for the device began in the U.S. and the U.K. last week, and in mid-December the handsets will begin shipping in those markets. The upfront price of the device in the U.S. is $499, but no confirmation has been given by Rogers regarding its date of availability and the price in Canada.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) device will be made available just in time for the holidays as informed by the CEO John Chen, who also told that the device can be bought by the people beginning December 17.
