Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella during a press conference stated that two of their biggest competitors Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) are the clear winners in their respective fields with exclusive identity. Nadella notes that Apple is best in hardware category while Google dominates the search segment.
Apple, Google dominate their core strengths
Nadella said that Apple is very clear as far as its business is concerned, and he recalled the version of Tim Cook, who recently said that Apple sells devices and that’s what the company is all about. Google dominates in data and is about advertising, about serving ads in a better way and they have done incredible job.
Nadella, however, skipped the other areas where Google and Apple have done well. His approach appeared narrow, when he ignored the fact that Apple has been hugely successful in App Store and its Music on iTunes. Developers prefer to create an app for the iOS and then direct it towards other platforms. Likewise, Google has also created successful categories for itself such as Android.
Nadella’s statement, however, holds true in the light of core products for both these companies. Apple’s core product is its hardware and Google is still the synonym of Search even though Android has written a new success story.
On same lines, for Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Nadella wants to concentrate on the key product that defines the company rather than divulging into everything else.
‘Productivity’ is Microsoft core strengths
Talking about the strengths of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Nadella notes that the company is the topmost, when it comes to productivity as they are the tool provider and platform provider to those interested in building their own apps or a document. In the past, also, the CEO of the company has maintained that Microsoft is the clear winner in productivity.
Last time, when Nadella visited India to announce the plan of setting up local data centers for its Azure Cloud service, he said that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) was striving to increase the productivity for India’s enterprises, and the company wants to be the background platform of all enterprise individuals.
