Everyone’s buzzing about a potential electric F-150 from Ford and Tesla’s all-electric pickup, but an EV start-up named Bollinger recently revealed their electric off-roader! Surely a brave move considering potential rivals such as Ford and Tesla.

It is called the B1, and it was revealed at the Classic Car Club of Manhattan. Unofficially it is ‘the world’s first all-electric, all-wheel drive, off/on road sport utility truck’ and it resembles Willys Jeep because of its box-like shape.

According to Bollinger, the B1 will be available in a 60 kWh battery pack variation or with a 100 kWh battery pack. Depending on your choice, the range goes from 120 to 200 miles. The B1 delivers electric motor capable of producing 360 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque which roughly enables it to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds before capping out at 127 mph (204 km/h).

The B1 has a towing capacity of 6,100 lbs and an identical payload rating, and it also tips the scales at 3,900 lbs. When it comes to measuring it is 150 inches long, 73.5 inches high, 76.5 inches wide and it has a 50/50 weight distribution. You’ll have to wait out 7 hours for the 60 kWh battery to charge with a household plug or 45 minutes from a fast charger. The 100 kWh charges in approximately 12 hours or 75 minutes depending on the type of charger you use.

Bollinger promised to begin delivering the B1 by February 2019 however they are still in talks with third-party manufacturers with the aim of choosing a company that would produce this off-roader in numbers they need. According to reports from this young start-up, they are looking to reach 10,000 to 20,000 units per year.

Can this off-roader beat its rivals? What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!
