To those unaware, Honda Ridgeline is pretty much a Honda Pilot but with one key change/addition and that is the truck bed. The Ridgeline will enter the 2018 model year with little to no changes, and it is already available for order in the US. If you want one of these sport utility trucks, know that it has a retail price of $29,630 w/o delivery and that is the manufacturer’s suggestion.
The suggested price is for the RT 2WD variant that comes well equipped as standard. Each model of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline that the company offers will come with a six-speed automatic transmission and a naturally aspirated 3.5 L V6 unit which will deliver 280 HP and 280 pound-feet of torque. This engine has been rated at 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 on the combined cycle which makes the Ridgeline a highly economic vehicle as well. But besides being the class leader when fuel economy is considered, this one is pretty much the first and only pickup that has managed to receive the Top Safety Pick+ accolade from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The 2018 Honda Ridgeline will receive two new exterior color options (White Diamond and Lunar Silver Metallic) and a Sport trim level. The trim level number has been reduced from the 2017 model year when we had 12 to now only 9 trims (which is more than plenty if you ask us). The Japanese car maker decided that, besides the RT and Sport trim that cost $33,170, they will offer the RTL which is priced at $33,930, RTL-T at $36,080, RTL-E at $41,620 and Black Edition from $43,120. One thing that will be an option for every trim level offered is the all-wheel-drive with Variable Torque Management, and if you opt for this one, you will have to add $1,900 to the retail price.
Since this is basically a Pilot derived workhorse you can expect to see a fancy interior that has a lot of soft-touch materials and hi-tech gizmos. Among those features that are included, we have 8.0-inch Display Audio touchscreen infotainment system with the addition of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, SiriusXM 2.0, Honda Satellite-linked Navigation, and up to four USB ports. The 2018 Ridgeline is pretty much a top offer from this company, and those who seek just a bit more towing capacity and a slightly bigger bed Honda can’t help you, but there is Ford with its redesigned F-150 that now is powered by a Powerstroke V6 Diesel.
