La’el Collins has had a very weird path leading up to the draft and his NFL career. There were analysts that even graded him as the first-round talent, but he ended up undrafted because of the problems with the law and the case that he was linked to before the NFL draft. It turned out that this guy had nothing to with it. Even though that was a big relief for him and his family, he did miss out an opportunity to earn a lot of money at the start of his career.

He spent his second year mostly injured, which also didn’t help him and his efforts. But, the Dallas Cowboys have promoted him to the starting spot in the offensive line, and that was a blessing for La’el. Finally, he is going to get paid and will remain with the Dallas Cowboys until 2019 as they have given him a two-year extension worth a bit over 15 million dollars.

He did show a lot of promise in his rookie year as he looked like someone that might be able to contribute. But, he got injured early on in the 2016 season, and due to others playing really well he never saw the field again. Now, he will be looking to produce in the starting lineup as their starting left guard.

They have one of the best offensive lines in the game and Collins will look to help out Frederick and Smith in the o-line. Even though he needs to gain a little more experience, playing with the guys that are at the highest level possible when it comes to protecting the QB and blocking the run will help him for sure.
