Blackberry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Classic is an advance version of the company’s QWERTY phones without exhausting its old features, and added with latest software and application installed.
“In that sense, BlackBerry Classic represents the kind of innovation BlackBerry – and you – strive toward every day,” BlackBerry CEO John Chen wrote in an open letter on Wednesday.
Praising BlackBerry Classic
In the open letter Chen touted about the new Blackberry Classic handset. In the note, the CEO suggested that the loyal customers and other users of Blackberry loved the classic keyboards and design. Therefore, the company will take this ‘Classic’ model of Blackberry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) to new levels. In the process, the most loved features will be complimented by the latest software and applications.
Chen says that in today’s changing world it is quite ‘tempting’ to change for the sake of change or to fall for “what’s trendy.”
However, “there’s also something to be said for the classic adage, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” Chen adds that BlackBerry Classic is based on this phenomenon as the same device has been a perfect fit for hands. Reminding the users, Chen says that “of course” the company has made changes to the device like around the edges, the screen has been made bigger and many more.
Smart move from Chen
The tech analysts are little surprised as the company has already announced the Classic model in February, but the phone has not launched yet in the market. However, Blackberry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) introduced another phone i.e. the Passport, a square design with a high resolution touch screen sporting both a software and hardware keyboard.
BlackBerry launched an informational page for the new BlackBerry Classic, and is taking names and email addresses for those interested in buying the upcoming device. It’s a smart strategy from the Canadian firm to create a buzz for the upcoming model.
