Coming off an amazing 2016 season, the Dallas Cowboys will be looking to do the same thing that they did a year ago in which they dominated for most of the regular season and even had one massive winning streak going on. The Playoff game that they lost was really close. Had they gotten a better start, who knows what might have happened this past January. There is no doubt that they were one of the best teams in the league, but can they do it again?
Can the Dallas Cowboys really have as good of a record as they did last year without nothing changing in their game? Probably not. Teams now have a tape on Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, they have a better chance of stopping them as they can take a look at the things they are good at and try to figure out a way to beat them.
Cowboys have rushed the ball on more than 60 percent of first-and-10 situations a year ago, they wanted to run the ball down their opponents throats and justifiably so as they have one of the best running backs in the league and the best offensive line in all of the football. This team will try to do the same this year, and they have a good chance of succeeding that.
But, they also need to make some adjustments, throw in something new. Switzer is now on the team, looking good in the camp. He can be in the slot with Cole Beasley, and Dallas can get more explosive in the passing game. Another thing that they can do to improve and be much tougher to guard is to involve Ezekiel Elliot in the passing game. There has been a lot of talk about that, and the Cowboys just might go ahead and try to use him as Dak Prescott could target him more.
It is going to be interesting to see whether or not the Cowboys can take what they created last season and take it to the next level in order to fulfill their goals for the 2017 NFL campaign.
