The official announcement for Blindspot Season 3 has arrived at last.
As Deadline announces, we can expect the long-awaited series to start on Friday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. EST.
Never before has the series aired on Friday, from its very beginning when it began to air on television up to the present day. When its Season 1 first came out, it started to air on Monday at the 10 p.m. since September. Things changed when the second season came along and the air time was moved to Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.
These changes are not considered to be a good sign for the series’ future. Until Season 3 was officially announced, there have been certain rumors circulating on the Internet that the show will cease to air due to the poor ratings. Apparently, this third season seems to have been under the big question mark.
So, we can leave all the rumors behind and prepare ourselves for the upcoming Season 3 which is set to arrive in a few months.
Martin Gero, the executive producer of the series, has revealed some of his plans for the project’s continuation. He said that he intends to make a change and put out more standalone episodes rather than multi-episode story arcs.
“We would like to see a better balance and tone with the show in Season 3. There’s so much going on in the world to stress about. We want ‘Blindspot‘ to be the escapist television it’s supposed to be, and not just have it stress you out even more, with the various ways the world could blow up. Although, that will still be a part of it,” Gero stated.
He also added that the center of the new episodes will mostly be its roots as well as Jane Doe’s (Jaimie Alexander) tattoos.
Blindspot is coming back with its Season 3 on Friday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. EST.
