Created by Bill Dubuque and directed by Jason Bateman, a new drama Ozark is finally getting closer to its release date. The series director will also play the main role in the show – Marty Byrde, a financial planner who moves from Chicago to a resort community in the Missouri Ozarks, which explains the series title. But, his decision to move is not as spontaneous as it may seem – he is prompted to do so because he is hiding from a Mexican drug lord. Being in such a dangerous situation, Byrde also puts the lives of his close ones in danger. He has a wife Wendy (played by Laura Linney), and two children Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) and Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz). So the question is, for how long will they manage to hide and survive?
For all of you who can’t wait for the series to be released to see what will happen once they move to Missouri Ozarks, we have good news – you can now watch the teaser which hints that this place is not that safe, as one scene shows Wendy scrubbing blood off her hands, while another one shows a dead body.
The first season of the series will comprise ten episodes and, as Bateman said, it won’t end with a cliffhanger. “We finish the movie. We’re not saving some for next year,” he revealed according to Entertainment Weekly.
In addition to the previously mentioned cast members, the series will also star Jason Butler Harner as Roy Petty, Marc Menchaca as Russ Langmore, Kevin L. Johnson as Sam Dermody, McKinley Belcher III as Agent Trevor Evans, etc.
