The 4th of July wasn’t really kind to the Dallas Cowboys this year. One member of the America’s team was arrested yesterday for the assault with a deadly weapon on the Independence day. This is really not the news that Cowboys fans wanted to see. A player that got in trouble was defender Damien Wilson.
Frisco Police has stated that Wilson was involved in an accident at the parking lot near Toyota Stadium, the home of the FC Dallas. They had a match on Tuesday Night, and it seems that Wilson was at the wrong place and the wrong time. The statement about what happened prior to the incident wasn’t released by the police. The only information that was released is that victim didn’t need help from the doctors and wasn’t taken to the hospital. Damien Wilson was arrested, but then he got released quickly after posting a $20,000 bond.
Wilson played in all of 16 games last season, and he even started in six of those. A half a sack and 34 tackles on a year is not a bad stat line for your backup linebacker. In the latter half of the season, Wilson started playing much better, and the hope was that he was going to become a bigger part of this Dallas Cowboys defense.
Now, he might not even take the field for all sixteen games of the year as there is a strong chance that he is going to get suspended. The Cowboys already have David Irving suspended for a couple of games this season, and they don’t need another man unavailable when the season kicks off.
