Great news for Wolverine fans! A couple of days ago, Hugh Jackman showed up on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV breakfast show and revealed that there was a high likelihood of this superhero coming back to the big screen in not so distant future. However, the not-so-good news is that he won’t be the one to portray the character.
Jackman said: “He’ll come back, just not with me” and added: “Well, except on Saturday nights at my house. I dress up!” The actor also said that he had kept the costume to entertain his children. “When my kids are not doing their homework, I dress up and the claws come out. I just have to do that [raise an eyebrow] with the claws and it works,” he explained his joke.
Hugh Jackman made a memorable performance as Wolverine, that’s for sure, but it seems that the time has come for someone else to take his place, as he continued saying: “Definitely someone else will play the role [of Wolverine], it’s a great role. You know, it’s like a Bond or it’s like a Batman, those kinds of roles. Other people will play him for sure.”
The actor is currently busy working on a new biographical musical drama titled “The Greatest Showman” which is slated to hit theaters in December this year in the United States, while in the UK it will see the light of day a couple of days later, in January 2018. The rest of the cast of the upcoming drama include Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, and Rebecca Ferguson. The movie revolves around American showman P. T. Barnum, who will be portrayed by Jackman himself. Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon wrote the script, while Michael Gracey will direct the film.
