We have already had a couple of WWE champions in 2017 alone. It all started with AJ Styles holding the belt and losing it to John Cena. His reign didn’t last very long as he dropped it to Bray Wyatt at the Elimination chamber. Soon after that, Randy Orton grabbed the gold at Mania 33 only to lose it to Jinder Mahal, who is the current WWE champion. That is already five in this year. But, who should be the next?
With the rumors of Cena going up against Mahal at Summerslam, we can only imagine that he is going to be the one to take down the Modern Day Maharaja and win the title. But, we don’t think he should be the one to do it. Baron Corbin with the Money In The Bank briefcase should be the next or AJ Styles as the babyface.
Baron Corbin is the better choice as then he can drop it later to AJ Styles in order to create that main event of Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 34 if indeed the WWE wants to do that match at the grandest stage of them all in 2018.
Our guess is that WWE will give Cena his 17th title reign, but that it won’t last long as Baron Corbin will probably cash in on him. Even if Cena is the next one to hold the belt, our scenario is still possible. The reason we don’t think that should be done as we don’t want Cena to stop all the momentum that Mahal has or can get in the near future. If The Maharaja loses to the leader of Cenation, that is going to happen.
