One of the most balanced divisions in all of the football each and every season has been the NFC East. There hasn’t been a clear-cut favorite to win this division in God only knows how long. We don’t have one this year either as all of the teams are pretty much on the same level. If we are to pick two that are the front runners, we would say the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.
Both of these squads had a great run during the previous year. Even though the Giants made the Playoffs for the first time since winning Super Bowl LVI, it was hard to top what the Dallas Cowboys have done during the 2016 campaign. They were the best team in the conference in the regular season, but just like the Giants, they just couldn’t get it done in the Playoffs.
The Dallas Cowboys are probably going to be one of the best teams in the whole NFC, but we think that the New York Giants are going to join them as well. We have seen how good their defense can be last year, so it’s going to be on the offense to improve and put the Giants in a category of contenders in the NFC.
With the addition of Brandon Marshall to this team, there is no doubt that Odell Beckham Jr. is going to be open more often. That is a scary thought since the defenses are usually focusing on stopping him and yet, he usually has a great game. We can’t even imagine what he is going to do now when opponents need to focus on another elite wideout.
So yes, it is fair to say that the New York Giants can be considered to be the favorites. A lot of people will pick them to win this division, but we are not going to count out the Cowboys just yet. Week 1 will give us some answers, but the season is long. It’s going to be interesting to see these two teams battling it out.
