Rick and Morty has quickly become the favorite show of many fans around the world, but there are some rumors that season 3 is going to be canceled. Several sources are behind this theory, and the show creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon suggest they may actually be right.

Korea Portal started all this, and as it appears, Roiland and Harmon cannot agree on a direction in which the show will go. According to the site, this is the main reason why season 3 keeps getting delayed, and they even believe that the show will end after the second episode in season 3 called “Rickmancing the Stone” which airs in the summer.

Season 2 ended in October 2015, and the fans have been waiting for the show to continue since then, but they kept getting disappointed over and over again. Christian Post even writes that episode two of the season 3 is not going to be aired at all.

“There is also the possibility that the show has already been canceled,” the piece reads, “and that the April Fool’s premiere could be the creator’s cryptic way of saying thank you. While this could be a hard pill to swallow, it could explain the months-long delay of the show.”

There are other sources like Blasting News which believe that Rick and Morty is not canceled, but they acknowledge that there are some issues why the show is postponed time after time. Harmon and Roiland are taking their time since they want to do season 3 the right way so we can expect new episodes by the end of the year.

Season 3, Episode 1 came as a surprise when it aired on April 1, April Fool’s Day without any announcement. Why did they choose this date? No-one actually knows, but the show creators are definitely pulling our leg with all these delays.

International Business Times are optimistic, and they believe that Rick and Morty season 3 will continue in July. There is even a video by Adult Swim which announces that the new episodes and the sequel are coming “this summer.” Hopefully, this is true.
