FIFA and PES are fighting an endless war, and in recent years, FIFA has been the favored game. However, Pro Evolution Soccer is always praised for the realistic gameplay, and it is back for another year. PES 2018 seems to be an exciting prospect, and there are several trailers which revealed its graphics and the kind of fluid soccer we all love. Here is everything you need to know about this game.
PES 2018 Release Date
PES 2018 arrives at the US market on September 12, while it will go on sale in Europe and Asia two days after that. Several previous editions went on sale prior to FIFA in that way creating an advantage over it. Again it will be the similar case since FIFA will be launched on September 29.
PES 2018 Price
The standard edition for PS4 and Xbox One will cost £49.99 ($59.99) while it will be slightly cheaper on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 – £44.99. Furthermore, PES 2018 comes in a special FC Barcelona edition which will be priced at £57.99 ($69.99) on PS4 and £64.99 ($69.99) on Xbox One. Buying this version allows you to have special Barcelona myClub agents, a Barcelona theme, and 1,000 myClub coins.
Consoles
PES 2018 will be available for PS4, PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Konami has said that the PC players will have the same experience as those who are playing the game on PS4 and Xbox One and this is great news since Konami wanted to improve the quality of the PC version for years. The photo you can see here is released by Konami, and you can clearly see the difference in quality between new and older consoles.
Nintendo Switch
PES 2018 will not be available on the Nintendo Switch. And this is where FIFA has the edge over Konami, which hasn’t released a version of their game on a Nintendo console since PES 2014 that was released on the 3DS.
Pre-Orders
If you want, you can already pre-order PES 2018, and digital downloads of both standard and special edition are available to buy in advance in the UK and US in PS and Xbox stores. Also, there is a Stream for PC. Hard copies of the game can also be pre-ordered for all consoles including PS3 and Xbox 360.
Cover
There will be five players on the cover – Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Luis Suarez, Rafinha and Neymar. Konami had the same approach last year and, of course, they compete against FIFA that features Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover.
New Features in PES
1. When it comes to gameplay, the game speed will be more realistic, and there are things such as “strategic dribbling” and “real touch+” The former adds more possession options while the latter allows the use of the full body for ball control.
2. In terms of graphics, details such as stadium lights, grass and tunnels will be improved. Also, the player models have been modified, and they now create more lifelike kit fitting.
3. There are new co-op and online options which allow two-vs-two and three-vs-three group play.
4. Random Selection Match is back.
5. Menus, tactics, team selection screens are completely new.
6. PES League will be featured, and it includes myClub, Random Selection Match and online co-op game modes.
7. Last but not least, the PC version will be upgraded, as we have already said.
Clubs and Leagues Available
Those who prefer PES over FIFA have to admit that PES lacks teams and leagues. So which of these will be available in the new PES 2018? Some of the expected leagues are English, Italian, Spanish and French, but not all teams will be licensed. Also, there will be some licensed squads available even though the league is not included in the mix. The list of all clubs will be known in August.
Usain Bolt In PES 2018
Usain Bolt will be playable in PES 2018, and one thing is for sure – he will be the fastest player. Bolt has wanted to enter professional soccer for a while, and Konami made it possible for him.
Legends
Konami and Diego Maradona had some issues in the past, but they managed to work things out, and Maradona will be included in the new game, but he will also promote it. We don’t know any other elites at this point.
Demo
You don’t need to wait until September in order to play PES 2018 because Konami is going to run an open beta for 11 days at the end of July. This is the time when PS4 and Xbox One players can try out the game, but don’t expect perfection on the first go since they need to collect some data from the public and finish the development. However, it will be a nice first try, and you can see what’s coming.
