Fullbright Studios announced today that their game, Tacoma, will be arriving on Xbox One and Windows PC on August 2, 2017, at Microsoft’s E3 press conference!
Tacoma is a first-person adventure game where the story is set in future, to be exact in 2088. Players are to explore a space station where they find clues about the story of the station’s crew. We have been provided with an in-depth overview which we’ll leave here for you:
‘Tacoma is a narrative adventure set aboard a high-tech space station in the year 2088. As you go about your mission, you’ll explore every detail of how the station’s crew lived and worked, finding the clues that add up to a gripping story of trust, fear, and resolve in the face of disaster.
At the heart of Tacoma is the facility’s digital surveillance system, which has captured 3D recordings of pivotal moments in the crew’s life on the station. As you explore, echoes of these captured moments surround you. You’ll use your ability to rewind, fast-forward, and move through the physical space of these complex, interwoven scenes to examine events from every angle, reconstructing the multi-layered narrative as you explore.
Tacoma is the next game from the creators of Gone Home, and carries on that tradition of detailed, immersive, and powerful storytelling, while pulling players deeper into the narrative than ever before.’
Key Features:
Great Story
On the aforementioned vessel lived a crew of six people. Of course, the station at hand is Tacoma station. We are set to discover and learn about their ways and relationships. Through clues, we are to reveal the story of these 6 frontiers, their nice experiences but also their bad ones. We will be able to do that by playing as an investigator.
Interactive World
Developers devoted a hefty amount of time to the creation of the world in which the game is set. Finding objects, artifacts, notes and all of that while exploring the post-apocalyptic world followed by crew’s personal digital audio clips guarantees tons of fun and bit of chills. Each detail should be examined carefully because it is all part of a story.
Futuristic View
It is the year 2088, you are placed in a fictional universe which describes humanity’s expansion into low-Earth orbit. Great level of detail and creative thinking of the developers are key factors that will provide you with a great insight into to the future. We can’t wait to explore it, this one comes straight from the kitchen of a team behind BioShock 2: Minerva’s Den and Gone Home. If that isn’t a fine resume, we don’t know what is.
Fun-sized experience
Gameplay is said to be around 3 to 5 hours long. It all depends on how you play the game, whether you are ready to explore every single detail or just skim through and enjoy the story in general. Still, this game is a non-combat and non-puzzle-focused game said to keep you on your toes from the beginning to the end.
This game was initially announced at The Game Awards in December 2014. We still don’t know whether it will be available on other consoles such as PS4, but Microsoft did state that Tacoma is a console launch exclusive, so it is probable that it will appear on other consoles as well.
We’ll leave the trailer below followed by a press conference from the event:
