EA’s soccer gaming series FIFA will put famous Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover of the 2018 edition. This will be the first time that Ronaldo’s image will be on the case of the most famous soccer game in the world.
Players such as Marco Reus, Lionel Messi, and Kaka have already decorated the cover of this game. Barcelona’s new links to the rivalry game called Pro Evolution Soccer have had some role in the entire story and FIFA has decided to pick the world’s most famous player at the moment for the new cover.
“It is an honour to be on the cover of FIFA 18,” said Ronaldo. “It’s an incredible feeling, I’m very grateful to have been chosen.”
The game was revealed via the official trailer, while it is supposed to go on sale on September 29 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, whole the Xbox One’s EA Access is starting on September 21.
More details are expected to come soon, but we already know that there will be a “Legends” part of Ultimate Team which will be rebranded as “Icons” and be available in all formats.
The official trailer of the FIFA 18 can be seen below, while the new game is going to be spectacular. The developers are hoping to blur the lines between reality and virtual world, and even though they haven’t reached that level yet, they are definitely going to approach that goal.
This title is the next entry to make use of DICE’s well-known Frostbite game engine which was employed for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. This turned out so well that Electronic Arts said that the rest of the studios which work under them simply have to use DICE’s engine because it can hit CG-quality output in real-time.
