There is nobody that took the WWE by the storm in the last couple of months like Neville did. Nobody thought that this guy could be a successful heel on the main roster. He has such a great move set, he had a great character that you just wanted to cheer for, but they really had no intention of pushing him. He was just somebody that was there to entertain the crowd with great moves, but in the end, he was going to lose.
Now, as a heel at the top of the Cruiserweight division, you kind of feel that he can hang with the big guys in the main division even though he has been labeled as a smaller guy. That is how awesome he has been as a heel since he made his return. He is dominant in the ring, he is amazing on the mic. The combination of those two things caused him to elevate in the eyes of the fans and probably in the eyes of the WWE officials.
He has the respect for them, but he really doesn’t want to think about the company right now. He is trying to focus on himself and doing the job the right way. Recently, he spoke about Triple H and his influence. Here is what the King of the Cruiserweights had to say about that.
“Hunter is a role model to everybody. Obviously, I’ve got a lot of respect for Hunter. Right now, I’m not concerned about him or his admiration or respect. All I’m concerned about, right now, is myself. I haven’t always been that guy. For the longest time, I was trying to please everybody, the WWE Universe included. Now, I don’t care. If Triple H likes me or dislikes me, that’s not important to me. What’s important to me is me. It’s taken me a long time to say that.”
