WWE is in a transitional period now as we are making a transfer from the Wrestlemania season to the Summerslam season. The things are not so interesting right now in the world of WWE, but things are starting to spice up. A big five-way is awaiting us two weeks from now as we are going to find out who will challenge Brock Lesnar. Then, we have Money In The Bank match later in June.

As you can see, things are looking good for the WWE going forward. The same can’t be said for the ratings after Mania and the superstar shakeup as both Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live have started to sink ratings wise. When you combine the fact that the NBA Playoffs are in progress with the situation in which the product is just not as interesting right now, you get the lowest ratings for both shows in 2017.

Smackdown Live now has a new champion after the Backlash pay per view. The champion is always someone that is the main reason for people tuning in and watching the product. After a year-low 2.1 million people watching last weeks SD live episode, we now have a small raise in the ratings as there were just over 2.3 million people watching. It ranked ninth on the cable TV overall, with NBA Playoffs and Inside the NBA leading the way like they usually do nowadays when they are on. When it comes to people who are between 18 and 49 years of age, SD Live ranked third on Tuesday, behind the two basketball related programs that we just mentioned.
