Although the latest season of Agents of SHIELD didn’t get much support from its network, it had a pretty strong start. Namely, the network broadcast the series on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. As far as its viewership number is concerned, it is a bit higher than 2 million, which would be quite a number for a network like the CW, but ABC has a bit greater expectations.
However, to a great pleasure of its numerous fans, ABC has officially confirmed Agents of SHIELD Season 5. Still, there’s one thing we have been trying to figure out these days, and that is whether or not Agents of SHIELD Season 5 might need a new night. It is because another Marvel drama, The Inhumans was supposed to air on Tuesdays, but it has been rescheduled for Fridays. Moreover, it has been confirmed that Agents of SHIELD will be renewed for another season, but it isn’t on the network’s Fall 2017 schedule, which means it won’t air anytime soon.
Furthermore, The Inhumans consists of 10 episodes. Therefore, Agents of SHIELD Season 5 won’t air until these 10 episodes are finished. It will most probably be early 2018 which corresponds with reports that we received that it will come in January of the next year, and it will now be on Fridays at 9 p.m. According to TV Line, although it will have the late start, it will still contain 22 episodes.
ABC Chief Channing Dungey said that Agents of SHIELD would be joined by Once Upon a Time in ABC’s night schedule. Now, what more could fans ask for than their two favorite TV shows in one night? Dungey said they liked the idea of Fridays being a destination of many since there have been innumerable requests from viewers to put these two shows closer together on the schedule.
