As most of the WWE fans already know, the next PPV that is waiting for us is Backlash that is going to take place this Sunday in Chicago. It is a Smackdown Live branded pay per view, and the card is all set and done. We can now take a look at the matches that we are going to be watching Sunday night. Here is the list of the duels at Backlash.
WWE Title Match: Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal – This is actually Orton’s first title defense since the Wrestlemania 33. Even though Jinder has done a good job as a heel, he is just a transitional challenger for the WWE title, and we don’t expect him to win here. He got the best of Orton for a couple of weeks in a row now, so we expect The Viper to come out on top this time.
Smackdown Tag Team Title Match: The Usos vs. Tyler Breeze and Fandango – The Usos have been red hot after that promo with The American Alpha, but now they have cooled off. Breeze and Fandango are on the rise, and the title change can very well happen. We would like to see this, and we know that many fans are cheering for these guys to take the title.
WWE US Title Match: AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens – We expect a great duel here, but the championship won’t switch hands. Owens will somehow retain the belt in this feud, and then AJ will likely challenge Orton at Summerslam.
Women’s Tag Match: Naomi, Charlotte, Becky Lynch vs. Tamina, Carmella, Natalya – Nothing really much to say about this fight, the heels have had the upper hand here, so we smell a babyface team standing tall.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler – This is the debut match for Nakamura, and we expect it to be a big one. The crowd will be on fire, Ziggler is a great worker, and he will have a great battle with Nakamura.
Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin – This is the newest match added to this card. Anything but a clean victory for Corbin would surprise us.
Preshow: Aiden English vs. Tye Dillinger – The Perfect 10 will make a quick work of the former Vaudevillian.
