Braun Strowman injury caused a lot of plans to change for the Universal Title picture. He was the one that was supposed to beat Roman Reigns in an ambulance match at Extreme Rules in order to become the number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship that The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar currently holds. But, that is not going to happen, and WWE is using their plan b.
This was the first Monday Night Raw since it was announced that Strowman is going to miss some time due to being injured and we got the answers that we were looking for. Now, the red brand has a direction and something to build on. General Manager of the Monday Night Raw Kurt Angle has announced that in the main event of the Extreme Rules pay per view there will be a fatal five-way match in order to determine Lesnar’s opponent at the Great Balls Of Fire.
Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt are going to be a part of this main event. Roman is the only guy here who is not in a feud with some other participant. Joe and Rollins are in a storyline, and so are Balor and Wyatt. That might be a good sign of what’s to come as Reigns is the favorite to win this battle.
But, we all know that Vince wants Reigns vs. Lesnar to happen at Wrestlemania 33 so it will be interesting to see whether or not he is going to push this match to happen much earlier than he initially wanted. If this guy wins, there is no doubt that these two will also meet at Summerslam as well. Rollins is a dark horse here, just like Samoa Joe, while Balor and Wyatt likely won’t win this fight and will continue feuding with each other going forward.
