New Madden 18 game is in work as the developers are getting ready to enter the last stage of making this game and preparing it for the eventual release in late August. One of the things that are always helping when it comes to selling the game is the cover athlete. It is usually a guy that has had a great season, and that is a clear-cut star in the NFL.
So, after the comeback in the Super Bowl LI that New England Patriots had, it only fits for probably the greatest QB of all time to be on the cover of Madden 18. Just a couple of days ago, it was announced that Brady is going to be the cover athlete for this game.
This is the first time that two players from the same team were on the cover in back-to-back years. Last year it was Rob Gronkowski, a tight end for the Patriots, on the cover. This year, it will be his colleague quarterback. Gronk, like many people before that were on the cover, didn’t have a great season as he got injured halfway through the year which forced him to be out for the remainder of the season.
This is known as the Madden curse as the player that represented the Madden game usually had a bad season after that. Before Gronk, there were Richard Sherman and Odell Beckham Jr. who both had down years just like their team. There is a good chance for Brady to have a bad season as he is getting older and entering the fifth decade in his life. One rough hit and Brady can be taken out. Now, he is going to be up against the Madden curse as well as up against the opposing defenses.
