Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) could probably hold a big media event on the 9th of September. This information was revealed on Tuesday by John Paczkowski of Re/code, who has a good record in case of such information. The rumors of the next iPhone being launched in two screen sizes of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches are once again repeated by him with the information about them being powered with A8 processors repeated as well.
September could be the month
While no confirmed date for the release of the new iPhone models is known for now, but Apple has a trend of first unveiling new devices publicly, which are followed by launch on the next Friday. While rumors of the new devices getting released for purchase by public on the Sep 19 are doing the rounds, and even the past pattern of events followed by Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) also indicates that Friday, Sep 19 could be the possible release date of the new Apple devices.
Apple had been offering screens as small as 4 inch, and has been losing the market share to Samsung, which offers screen as big as 5.7 inch. To compete, the iPhone maker is surely expected to large screen models to market. Reports from the Wall Street journal have informed that this will be the biggest launch in the history of Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) with 80 million units being manufactured by the end of 2014. The large screen in an iPhone is very much desired by Apple lovers, and Wall Street has high hopes attached to this release. The event might also see the launch of iWatch, the much awaited wrist wear from Apple.
Production issues
From some time there are rumors about the 5.5-inch version of Apple iPhone 6 according to which its release may not happen with the 4.7 inch version. This is because the company is struggling with some production issues, and these issues would create a pressure on the company for pushing the production to a future date. This means that the 4.7-inch model would go on sale first and later on we will see the 5.5 inch iPhone. This is not happening for the first time, as last year also the company released the second-generation iPad mini with Retina display 10 days after the iPad Air was released.
The iPhone 5 had established a design, which was later used in the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c versions and both saw the release on the same day. The new iPhone 6 boasts of an all new ‘look and feel’ and not only would it have larger screen, but rounded edges are also expected.
