Six years ago the last Ford Ranger hit the dealerships in the United States of America. Overseas, in other markets, it made great results with a new platform and a revival, however, there were no signs of it coming to the U.S. Years later, in 2019, we will be able to see a new model.
This vehicle will be the realization of Ford’s fans’ dreams, it is a perfect rival to Toyota Tacoma and GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado. The Ford Ranger remains a real body-on-frame pickup, and it will use a bit different variation of the ongoing T6 platform. New Ford Bronco will also be underpinned by that platform. There are rumors going on that this vehicle will have both the all-wheel drive option and the rear-wheel drive one.
When it comes to looks, the Ranger shouldn’t stray from the path of the current European version. However, it is speculated that the new US-bound truck will get a noticeable facelift which will place it in line with the F-150. According to a Reddit thread (by a verified Ford Designer!!) which was uncovered by Road & Track, both the Super Cab and the Crew Cab will be available to buy. The Crew Cab will be marketed as a family truck, that basically means that it will be longer than the base F-150 (211.1 inches vs. 209.3 inches). The Super Cab will be advertised as a work truck. There is even a possibility of an off-road version which could present a good competition to the current Colorado ZR2.
Another thing worth mentioning is that we acquired some spy photos from the testing of the Ford Ranger in Colorado. Camouflage couldn’t hide that the truck’s design doesn’t step away from the companies basic design.

There are rumors that this car will feature a naturally aspirated V6 and an EcoBoost 4-cylinder engines as options under the hood. There might even be a five-cylinder diesel option carried over from Europe. The company claimed that this Ranger will have ‘better MPG than the F-150’ which means that we can expect a 10-speed automatic (brand new from Ford).
The Ranger will be built at Ford’s Wayne, Michigan production facility, just like the Bronco. Development and engineering should take place at Ford’s Asia-Pacific Engineering Center in Victoria, Australia.
2019 Ford Ranger Price
When it comes to price, it is speculated that the Ranger will cost about $25,000. It could easily be stretched into the mid- to the high-30s mark. There is a possibility of an off-road version that would be near the $40,000 price range just in line with the upcoming Colorado ZR2.
2019 Ranger Release Date
This pickup is expected to make its debut in 2018 and go on sale a year later, in 2019. The 2018 Detroit Auto Show seems like a most logical place for the introduction.
