Even though NBC disappointed many fans after canceling a number of their shows, they eventually chose to renew one on the long list of shows airing on the network – the entertainment TV series I Can Do That. In case you haven’t watched it, the show features celebrities who are supposed to learn some classic acts and then perform those live in front of an audience. The audience then votes and chooses the best act of the week, eventually selecting a winner.
The first season of the series consisted of only six episodes, but they have revealed that the sequel will comprise two more. Some of the celebrities who took part in the previous season include Dancing With The Stars’ Cheryl Burke, actor Alan Ritchson (Hunger Games, Smallville), singer Joe Jonas, comedian Jeff Dye, and Nicole Scherzinger (former member of The Pussycat Dolls), who was the champion of Season 1. There were various interesting performances during the first six episodes, such as Joe Jonas rapping like Snoop Dogg.
As previously mentioned, it is up to the audience to choose the “top entertainer” every week, so there are no judges in the show. It turned out that people liked this kind of entertainment, as the total number of viewers was eventually near 6 million (more precisely, 5.7 million), and the average rating was 1.7.
With all kinds of series emerging constantly, reality competition shows have become less popular recently, but there are still a couple of them that have managed to keep the audience interested in watching them, such as Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Bachelor, Big Brother and Dancing With The Stars. Well, let’s hope I Can Do It will also find its way to this short list of old but gold shows.
For the time being, we only know for sure that there will be I Can Do That Season 2, but it’s still too early to tell when we should expect it to see the light of day. We’ll keep you updated.
