Dean Ambrose moved to the red brand in the middle of the build-up for the Payback pay per view, so there was no time for him to have a feud with somebody. He was involved in segments with the Miz, but there was no number one contender for the IC title that he is holding right now. Well, as soon as Payback ended and Monday Night Raw started looking towards their next PPV, we got the challenger for the Intercontinental Championship.
There was a triple threat match on this edition of Raw in which the writers were able to create two new feuds. Finn Balor was just about to win the spot in the match against Dean Ambrose. He was getting ready for the drop kick and then his finishing move, but Bray Wyatt interfered and cost him that chance as the Miz was able to use that distraction that The Eater Of Worlds provided to his advantage, he rolled up Balor who was down for the three count.
Now, we are going to see the Miz and Dean Ambrose in a feud that we have already watched on Smackdown Live. Dean Ambrose hasn’t done much with the IC title, while the Miz is the best Intercontinental champion in recent WWE history. He was great with that belt so we don’t think that the fans would mind seeing another run by the Miz with this championship.
They will be feuding going into the next red branded pay per view event, which is Extreme Rules. The match is going to happen there so don’t be surprised if the Miz walks out as the new IC champion, winning the title yet again.
