WWE Backlash pay per view is going to be the only PPV event that this company is going to produce in the month of May and it is going to be a Smackdown Live branded pay per view. Since the blue brand has a shorter roster than Monday Night Raw, it is rumored that this event is going to have a match or two less than Payback PPV is going to have. Here is how the card is shaping up to be.
WWE Title: Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal – Orton is going to have the title around his waist until the Backlash as he is not defending his belt against Bray Wyatt this Sunday at Payback. The Viper is a clear-cut favorite here.
Tag-Team Titles: The Usos vs. Breezango – Jimmy and Jay needed new challengers besides the American Alpha. Tyler Breeze and Fandango are getting the chance to shine as they will now be in a serious programming with The Usos.
U.S. Title: Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles – Owens is going to beat Jericho this Sunday. Then, we are going to see a classic between him and The Phenomenal One.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler – The Artist Known as Shinsuke Nakamura is going to have his first match on the main roster against Dolph Ziggler at Backlash. This shall be a great showdown.
Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn – This feud has just started, and it is going to be very interesting to see what kind of dynamic will these two have in the ring.
Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan – This looks like a throwaway match. There is no way that Luke Harper is losing this one.
Naomi/Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya/Tamina/Carmella – What can we say about this fight except that the heels are likely going to win since the champ is a babyface.
