North Korea is “ready to sink” US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson!

According to state media, North Korea is “ready to sink” US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson which is heading to the peninsula. The Rodong Sinmun newspaper made a warning that the might ship could be destroyed “with a single strike.” The USS Carl Vinson is a part of the battle group that was conducting joint exercises with the Japanese Navy in the Philippine Sea on Sunday, and that was dispatched there by the US President Trump as a warning that US “strategic patience” is coming to an end when North Korea’s nuclear ambitions are concerned.

But there is more to this because apparently, tensions raised even more after a recent failed missile test by the North Korea and a massive military parade showing off its latest possibilities. Thanks to the Sunday’s commentary in Rodong Sinmun (mouthpiece of the ruling Workers’ Party), which followed leader Kim Jong-un to an inspection of the pig farm, stating “Our revolutionary forces are combat-ready to sink a US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier with a single strike.” He continued by adding that the attack on what it called a “gross animal” would be “an actual example to show our military’s force,” stirred these latest events even more.

Thanks to the North Korean propaganda this was also backed up by state newspaper Minju Joson which warned that their army would “deal merciless destructive blows at the enemies so that they would not come back to life again.” The same newspaper were equally blunt during the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s visit of Asian nations when he said that the US was “reviewing all the status of North Korea, both in terms of state sponsorship of terrorism as well as the other ways in which we can bring pressure on the regime in Pyongyang.” To this statement, Rodong Sinmun replied: “In the case of our super-mighty pre-emptive strike being launched, it will completely and immediately wipe out not only the US imperialists’ invasion forces in South Korea and its surrounding areas but the US mainland and reduce them to ashes.”

This US-North Korean thing is definitely getting heated up, and as it seems, it won’t blow over any soon, especially with the North Koreans threatening to strike Australia with nuclear weapons if it remains an ally to the US. According to North Korea, their nuclear program is purely defensive, but they are also trying to develop weapons small enough to put on ballistic missiles. Thankfully there is no evidence supporting the fact that they already have developed such a missile or that they have one with the range to reach long-distance targets, meaning we can take a breath, at least for now.
