After its release earlier this month, the highly-anticipated installment of the famous Fast & Furious franchise (titled The Fate of the Furious) immediately started setting box office records and the team working on it is more than satisfied with the success. However, the feud between the two movie stars, Vin Diesel and Dwayne The Rock Johnson, is still ongoing.
As you probably remember, it all started back in August when Johnson called names one of his co-stars, but at first refused to say who he was talking about. Soon enough it became obvious that his offensive post on Instagram referred to Vin Diesel, and it was then that fans’ illusion that everyone gets along just like in the movie was broken.
A few weeks ago Diesel called their fight “blown out of proportion” and claimed the two of them had buried the hatchet. “I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don’t think that was his intention. I know he appreciates how much I work this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne,” the actor explained to USA Today.
Furthermore, he added: “I protect the franchise. I protect everybody including Dwayne.” Diesel pointed out “I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it … Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that’s me.”
However, in spite of these claims, the two actors kept a clear distance from each other during numerous movie promotion events. And there’s more. Earlier this week, at the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which also stars Diesel, the actor said that he would definitely “take down” The Rock if they actually fought each other. He said that so as to confront Tyron Woodley, a UFC fighter, who had expressed his opinion about this hypothetical situation saying that Johnson would win without a doubt. According to TMZ, Diesel mentioned his experience as a bouncer as his main advantage over the former WWE wrestler.
