At the 2017 Barrett-Jackson auction, you can see many interesting things, but its public relation staff members issued a note that Ford would introduce its Mustang convertible model.
This is going to be one of the first pre-production convertibles shown in the United States of America, but that is not all. Ford’s Performance Marketing Manager Jim Owens is going to be there to talk about the changes for the 2018 model. The Barrett-Jackson auction is worth visiting anyway, but this Mustang Convertible is definitely a reason to come here and have fun.
The Barrett-Jackson event is a world of its own packed with pleasant people. There are perhaps too many people at one place, so interviewing Jim Owens can be a tricky business. But here it is – the 2018 Ford Mustang Convertible in its full glow.
At the rear end of the car, the convertible is equipped with the quad-tip exhaust, and it is one of the biggest changes. Also, hood vents are now wider and more stylish, plus they are now inboard on the main center portion of the hood.
The trim packages have yet to be officially announced, but we expect to see GT Premiums with the Piano Black-like painted front grille design. In the middle of the grille, there is a famous Mustang badge, while this convertible will receive a new front fascia.
In the meantime, the headlights, fog lights and even turn signals use LED tech on this model whereas, inside the GT Premium, there is a 12-inch LCD instrument cluster option and Shaker audio system together with a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission.
