Previously, the phones manufactured by BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) sporting the QWERTY keypads were a compromise with the screen sizes and the company has taken care of this issue in the new device named ‘Passport.’ A report from n4bb compared the Passport to Bold 9900, and concluded that the former is “is huge. No, really, it’s massive.” BlackBerry Bold 9900 has a 2.8 inch screen while the upcoming Passport would be 4.5 inches.
Easy navigation
The company had introduced its first phablet Z3, which was an all touch device and with upcoming ‘Passport,’ it has introduced another phablet with QWERTY keypad.
BlackBerry has designed Passport keeping productivity as the salient feature. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) fulfills its promise of productivity well with the keyboard as it eases typing and allows easy touch screen like navigation. The user would find it easy to concentrate on performing the tasks in an efficient manner. The touch-enabled keyboard would offer easy navigation to the users to switch between web pages, apps and e-mails. Scrolling and placing cursor at any place becomes simpler as the user only needs to brush over the keys with his fingers. The huge screen would also make it easier to read documents and type as and when needed as the fingers will be on the keypad and off the screen.
BlackBerry tries to pave path to success
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) CEO John Chen has designed a revival strategy for the company and has plans of launching new models of the smartphone to gain back the glory it once enjoyed. The latest release by the company was Z3, and now, it has plans of introducing few more new models of which ‘Passport’ is one.
The company is promoting ‘Passport’ well so that it becomes highly popular before its official launch in the markets. The showing off of the wide screen and innovative keypad has caught the attention of many BlackBerry lovers who expressed their appreciation for the device on the company’s blog.
“The BlackBerry Passport is proving that it is hip to be square, as early glimpses of the device’s massive, trend-bucking screen and innovative, touch-enabled keyboard last week attracted huge media attention and plenty of positive comments from readers (read: potential buyers),” said the company in a blog post.
