And the role of Cable in the upcoming Deadpool movie has finally been chosen – Josh Brolin has got the part! Ryan Reynolds continues to play Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth and Wade Wilson.
As we all know, the part of Cable has been really difficult to assign to. Lot’s of actors were taken into consideration, and many speculations on the topic have been circulating the Internet for quite a long time. Stars such as Michael Shannon or David Harbour, for instance, were the most likely ones for landing this role. But Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt were also among those that were mentioned.
But now, the final decision has been reached, and Brolin will be taking on his second Marvel’s role.
David Leitch (John Wick) will be in the director chair, replacing Tim Miller, the first movie’s director. The production is set for June 2017 most likely, and the location will be set in Vancouver.
Another cast that has been confirmed for the next installment is Zazie Beetz playing Domino. She makes part of Cable’s mercenary crew, called Six Pack, and he has been having some feelings for her apparently.
Cable is a marvelous creation of Rob Liefeld, together with Louise Simonson. And he makes the perfect supplement for Deadpool, as it seems.
His actual name in the comics is Nathan Christopher Summers, and his father is Scott Summers, Cyclops of the X-Men. When he was just a small boy, he caught a virus he could not cure at that moment. And for that reason, his father sent a little boy into the future where he learned how to control the disease and prevent it from further spreading. However, as a consequence, his arm remained metallic. His opponent in the future is Apocalypse, and his fight is also based on preventing his gruesome future from becoming real, with the help of familiar X-Force group.
Brolin is also known for his nomination at Academy Awards as well as his involvement in film Milk. Brolin’s Thanos are due to arrive on May 4, 2018, in Avengers: Infinity War.
As for Deadpool 2, we will have to wait a bit more for an exact and final release date.
