Dwayne Johnson is creating the movie version of the popular TV series Baywatch and according to him, the series “looks like children’s TV” compared to the remake we expect to see. Baywatch was on TV from 1989 to 2001, and it turned David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson into superstars.
Dwayne Johnson said: “We are far dirtier than the show ever was – obviously the show was a family show on at family time of day – but in the movie, we could have been dirtier. I think people are going to be shocked that Baywatch has got dirty – but there are a lot of laughs.”
He also added: “We worked hard to make sure the flesh quota was high …. Plot was important, don’t get me wrong, but so was sorting out our slow motion runs. There’s less chest hair though but I like to think I have done the TV show justice in other ways. We have the Hoff on board keeping that vibe going.”
The former WWE star and the popular Hollywood actor who will also appear in Jumanji reboot, as well as the latest Fast and Furious, had something to say about Zac Efron’s abs. Well, to cut a long story short, he acknowledged that he was jealous of them.
He laughed: “The ladies were too impressed for my liking with Zac’s body when he was filming. They thought he’d sprayed on his abs. I’d like to say that’s true but I have to give him credit, he worked hard – we all wanted to keep the airbrushing budget low.”
Baywatch will hit theaters on May 26, 2017. Besides Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron, you will have a chance to see Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra and Kelly Rohrbach.
