While Fuuka manga series was first published in 2014, it was not until January this year that it was adapted into an anime television series. To be more precise, on January 6, 2017, the first episode of Fuuka anime aired on WOWOW, and soon afterward it was also available on MBS, BS11, Tokyo MX and several other Japanese channels.
Kouji Seo wrote and illustrated Fuuka manga, while the anime is based on the script written by Aoi Akashiro. The series is directed by Keizō Kusakawa and developed by Diomedea studio; Iga Takuro and West Ground composed the music. FUNimation licensed the series in North America, so it is now available on their website, but you can also find it via other online video streaming services, such as Crunchyroll and Kissanime.
Only three months after its premiere, the series turned out to be mostly well-received by the audience. On MyAnimeList it holds a score of 7.26/10, and according to Crunchyroll, it is rated even better (4.2 stars out of 5).
Fuuka Brief Storyline
As for the anime plot, it focuses on Yuu Haruna (voiced by Yūsuke Kobayashi in the Japanese version and Aaron Dismuke in the English one). Yuu is depicted as a loner who is an avid Twitter user, and he eventually becomes dependent on his mobile phone. However, his life changes one night when he bumps into Fuuka Akitsuki, a mysterious woman who leads a completely different kind of life – she doesn’t even own a cell phone. Due to a misunderstanding, Fuuka smashes Yuu’s phone, which is not a very good start, we have to admit. In spite of this, the two of them eventually get to know each other and start a relationship. If you are interested to find out what led to such turn of events, don’t waste any more time and watch the series.
Fuuka Season 2 Release Date
Given the fact that the first season became so popular right after its release, we assume there is no reason for canceling the series. However, the studio hasn’t made any official announcement about the renewal yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out more.
