One of Acorn’s bestselling series of all-time – Doc Martin is renewed for two more seasons, believe it or not. Namely, this great hit comedy drama has BAFTA winner Martin Clunes starring an egoistic, uptight doctor in a weird town in Cornwall. The new season, Series 8 has already started its production in beautiful Port Isaac on the North Cornwall coast, and reports suggest that it will be released in fall 2017. In the meantime, subscribers of Acorn TV can watch the previous 7 seasons anytime they want. Moreover, it is now available for Android and Chromecast, as well.
President of Acorn Brands, Mark Stevens, expressed his enthusiasm about offering Acorn TV subscribers two more seasons, while at the same time striving to always bring new and exclusive content. Recently the best Irish drama Striking Out was released and another season of Doc Martin is just around the corner. Dominic Minghella created the series, while Buffalo Pictures and Phillippa Braithwaite produced it and DRG distributed it.
Doc Martin, Winner of the British Comedy Award for best comedy drama, is said to be one of the most successful British TV Shows of that type in the U. S. As far as its cast is concerned, there are numerous famous actors, such as Dame Eileen Atkins, Caroline Catz, Jessica Ransom, Ian McNeice, Selina Cadell and Joe Absolom, the guy we watched in the previous seasons and who will be returning for this one as well. Martin Clunes is one of the most popular actors on Acorn TV. He starred in great series, such as Reggie Perrin, A is for Acid, Men Behaving Badly and some documentaries, like Islands of Britain, Man and Beast, Wild Life, and many others.
The story is set in the fictional town of Portwenn, and it follows the life of Doc Martin and his wife, Louisa. In the last series, they managed to save their marriage, and we’ll see what waits for us in the next one as we’re looking forward to it.
