Despite the fact that Honda, Chrysler, and Kia replaced their minivans with the next-generation models, Toyota doesn’t want to give up on the current-generation Sienna, and instead of the completely new version, we will see several updates. The redesigned 2018 Toyota Sienna will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show, while Japanese car maker has also upgraded Yaris which will come with an abundance of features.
We cannot help but notice the revamped front end of the Sienna, that is now equipped with a new front fascia and front grille which slightly resembles the one from the Toyota Mirai. What is specific about this minivan is the massive mouth that makes it look unconventional compared to other conservative rivals.
Everyone knows that minivans are about utility and not styling and the Japanese carmaker does everything to make the Sienna comfortable. The base SE trim receives a new laminated windshield that minimizes the noise, vibration, and harshness, whereas the upper Limited model comes with acoustic glass for the front row. In addition, the 2018 Toyota Sienna now has five USB ports inside to cover all the rows of seats.
There are several variants of the company’s Entune 3.0 infotainment system that come standard in the new minivan. For example, on the L, LE, SE and XLE, the system brings a connected navigation system, while on the LE, SE, and XLE it is equipped with an on-board Wi-Fi hot spot as well. The navigation and stereo are improved in the Limited model which also includes a 10.1-inch subwoofer that is offered as an option for the SE and XLE. At the top of the lineup sits the Limited Premium which you can purchase with a Bird’s Eye View monitor that will help you park and maneuver this large minivan in narrow streets and parking spaces.
The 2018 Toyota Sienna comes with the Toyota Safety Sense suite which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane departure warning with steering assist and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. We have already mentioned that the Yaris has also been upgraded, but these updates are not so large.
