Colin Kaepernick went from being a star and a true quarterback of the future to a guy that can’t find a spot on the roster. He had a meteoric rise when he took over as the starter for the Niners and led them to the Super Bowl appearance. That boom of his performance was followed by an even bigger fall since Jim Harbaugh left the team.
He is now still in the search for his next team, partially because of his protests early in the season, but also because his play on the field wasn’t really good as well. As long as your productivity is surpassing off the field negative stuff, you will be on an NFL team. As soon as your performance doesn’t at least match the trouble that you are causing, you will be off the squad. That is what happened in this Kaep situation.
Still, there is one man that believes in him even in these darkest times. It is his former coach and the head man of the Michigan College Football team Jim Harbaugh.
“I think he’s an outstanding player and I think he’s a great competitor who has proved it in games and has the ability to be not only an NFL starter but a great NFL player. He’ll have a great career and be a great quarterback, win championships.”
Jim Harbaugh is the one that always believed in Kaep as he was the one that drafted him back in 2011 and made him a starter before he took the team to the Super Bowl to face the Ravens. But this kind of support is just on another level. Who knows, he might do all of these things, but the 29-year-old signal caller needs to find a squad first and foremost.
