Since its first release in September 2007, The Big Bang Theory has gained the affection of more and more viewers and eventually became “the most watched scripted series on television.” This nerdy sitcom which follows the lives of a group of geeky friends will soon receive its spin-off series which will be titled Sheldon and, needless to say, it will focus on the main character of the show, Sheldon Cooper (played by Jim Parsons). It has been announced that this one will depict the young Sheldon, so Parsons was not suitable for the part (Iain Armitage will take on the role instead).
Now, when it comes to the original series, all of you who are its loyal fans know that there have been ten seasons so far, and we guess you might have wondered for how long they will manage to continue the story about your favorite crew. Well, in case you began to worry about the possibility of canceling the show, we have good news for you. THR has confirmed that Big Bang Theory will definitely be renewed for two more seasons. According to the source, CBS and Warner Bros. have concluded the negotiations, and now it’s official that we can expect to see Season 11 and 12, though it’s still too early to say when.
However, what we still don’t know for sure is whether all of the crew members will return for the upcoming seasons. As for the time being, only Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar signed the new deals, but Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik are still negotiating.
What seems to be the problem is that the two actresses have earned the significantly lower amount of money per episode than the rest of the cast so far (the two of them made $175,000 per episode, while the other members of the crew earned $900,000 per episode). Let’s hope they will find a solution to this problem.
Some people believe that perhaps Season 12 will be the show’s finale, but the creators haven’t even mentioned this possibility, so we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. What’s important is that two new seasons are bound to come. Follow us for more details.
