The new Gurkha model has been launched by Force Motors, and it now abides by BS-IV emission norms. You can get this vehicle either with three or five doors, and two versions called the Xplorer and Xpedition are available. The new car comes with small exterior modification as well as with some mechanical changes.
What we see when we look at the 2017 Force Gurkha are the new front and rear bumpers and the redesigned front grille. All-terrain tires are standard on the new model, while this vehicle is almost identical to its predecessor. The interior features a new steering wheel design and there are also new air-con controls on the center console and better gear lever.
You can purchase the Xplorer with the three- and five-door body styles, unlike the Xpedition, which is only available with five doors. A hard top and a fabric soft top are offered on the three-door model, and you can also choose seating configuration starting from a four plus driver to a seven, plus driver. On the other side, we have the five-door version which only comes with a hard top, whereas the seating arrangements available are six- or an eight-seat config, without the driver.
The 2017 Force Gurkha sits on a new ladder frame architecture and it receives a new suspension. New independent struts with gas-charged shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar are located at the front end, whereas on the rear, you can find a new multi-link setup with gas-charged hydraulic shocks and an anti-roll bar.
Under the hood of the Gurkha is the 2.6-liter diesel unit which is mated to a new five-speed manual transmission, while you can choose either an RWD or an AWD configuration. The Gurkha Xplorer is the competitive off-road vehicle with a 4WD system and locking front and rear differential, compared to the Xpedition that is an RWD model.
The starting price of the 2017 Force Gurkha Xpedition is Rs 8.38 lakh (around $12,684) while the Xplorer is more expensive and for it, you would have to pay Rs 9.36 lakh (around $14,339).
