Out of all eight matchups in the Sweet 16 of this year’s March Madness, this one is the one that all the fans are looking forward to the most. UCLA is one of the most talked about teams this year, while the Kentucky Wildcats are the team that is always in focus. These two will meet on Friday in a big-time game with Elite 8 spot on the line.
Kentucky Wildcats are one of the best teams each and every year. Even though they are not as good as they were a year or two ago, Kentucky is still one of the candidates for the title this year as well. They have been good in the first two rounds of the tournament, led by Malik Monk, a guy that has been averaging 20.0 points per game this season on 45% shooting from the field. Calipari is one of the best coaches out there, and he is going to have his hand full preparing for this game.
Why? Because the UCLA Bruins are one of the most prolific offenses in the college basketball in the past couple of years. They are led by Lonzo Ball, a guy that is going to get everybody involved on every single night and will take over the game if and when he needs to. We saw it against Cincy as he had all of his nine assists in the second half while he also took it to Cincinnati from the three point land. He is versatile and is the best player on the Bruins while not leading them in scoring. That says a lot about his impact on the game.
Monk vs. Ball is the key matchup here, and we are going with Lonzo Ball and his UCLA Bruins. It’s going to be one of the best games of the tournament, a high-scoring duel in which the Bruins will prevail. The final score: 87:80 UCLA.
